Eluse chats new club night and record label, t:empo
t:empo is a new London party born from a love of timeless, underground sounds and a deep respect for the city’s grassroots scene. After years of quietly observing and waiting for the right moment, he’s chosen now to launch a project that prioritises quality over hype, connection over clout, and music that resonates beyond the night. With its debut at The Goose and a lineup that reflects both taste and intention, t:empo sets out to create something intimate, authentic and lasting — a party for people who get it, and a community for those who care. We caught up recently with its founder and resident DJ, Eluse, to learn more ahead of their opening party…
What made now the right time to launch t:empo?
We have been patiently waiting for the right time over the last few years and believe we have now found the right intimate venues that will suit our party and ethos.
There is certainly more demand for intimate parties and we want to contribute to keeping the scene alive.
Tell us about the energy or aesthetic you’re hoping to build with t:empo.
We want t:empo to represent an authentic and modern aesthetic but with a timeless feel just like the music you will hear at our parties.
How did you land on The Goose for the debut party?
We couldn’t have chosen a better venue for our launch party and have seen numerous successful events held at The Goose. We knew it was time for us to step up and get involved.

What should people expect walking into the opening night — any surprises?
Good music and vibes, come and see for yourself!
How did you go about choosing E. Alexander, Steamy Bumplings and Eluse for this first lineup?
All DJs were chosen through respect of their independent styles and music they play and were always on the wish list for our launch event. Our booking policy and line ups will always be about quality over quantity.

What’s your relationship with each of the artists on the bill?
We have been following E. Alexander and Steamy Bumplings for some time and respect the dedication they both put into their craft. They both also play a vital role in the London scene with Mui Mui Records and Dim Sum Records events which is inspiring.
Did you give them full freedom with their sets, or was there a brief?
All DJs that play for us will have full freedom for their sets.We curate lineups that present DJs known for their music selection and who we respect, so we know they will always deliver. A focus on extended sets and smaller line ups is the outlook we will take.
What’s your ultimate goal with the label — is it a party brand, a record label, or something else?
t:empo was created to offer music and parties that still have that independent feel and doesn’t follow any trends.
We simply want to release good underground music and host parties that people want to attend.
How are you finding the practical side of promotion — logistics, bookings, budgeting?
Fun and games ha ha. Seriously though we are enjoying the ride and it's encouraging when you deal with good people who are in it for the right reason.
What are your hopes for how people talk about this party after it's happened?
We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we will and also we would like people coming back for more!
What kind of community do you hope t:empo creates?
A community that is open minded, welcoming and of course wants to have a good time.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned putting on your first night?
Communication is certainly key, whether that's with DJs, venues or people attending the party.
Are there any local promoters or scenes you’re drawing inspiration from?
We have taken inspiration from a number of promoters and places including:
Bizarre Trax (London)
Cloak and Dagger - (Birmingham) They have recently returned to putting on events and have amazing parties and residents.
Rhythm Point (Ibiza) - Hugo Martinez and friends are the crew responsible for keeping the underground scene and spirit alive in Ibiza which is inspiring especially in the current climate.
It’s worth mentioning the scene in Portugal, having spent a lot of time over there in places such as Lisbon, Porto and Aveiro they certainly know how to throw a party.
Also the line ups that are curated on a consistent basis at venues such as Carmo rooftop (Lisbon) and Faina (Aveiro) should be highlighted – it’s nice to see DJs and promoters who are passionate about the scene.
If everything goes to plan, where would you like t:empo to be a year from now?
Hopefully we have had a number of successful events and created a buzz with our parties and releases. We are in this for the long term and are already planning for next year. We are only just getting started, watch out for more news soon…
Finally, why does the music — and the love of the scene — always have to come first?
The right music creates the right atmosphere which is why we are very selective on the DJs we choose. Right now it’s more important than ever to support independent promoters and parties who are doing it for the love first and foremost.
Let’s push things forward!
