London city guide with Pegasvs
To celebrate the imprint’s 20th release, it only feels right for label head Pegasvs to be left in control, with ‘Extend and Play’ a wonderful representation of not only Pegasvs’ signature style but the start of a joyous new chapter for the label as it looks forward to another 20 releases.
Pegasvs is a Marseille-born, London-based producer and DJ known for his hybrid approach to dance music — blending house, broken rhythms and acid lines into warm, analogue-infused club tracks.
Before becoming Pegasvs, he cut his teeth throwing boat parties in Paris and running a boutique booking agency, eventually moving to London in search of new sonic frontiers.
His music balances dancefloor energy with a personal edge, weaving in themes of transition, freedom, and craft.
Off the back of his latest release and a fair old time living in London we thought it’d be a good idea to sit down with Pegasvs to talk through a few of his favourite spots in the Capital…
Music

One of my favorite activities is record digging. As a DJ I play mostly vinyl so I always need new music, But I am on a budget as well. As a result, I love going to Rook because they offer a lot of choices mostly second hand records at very good prices! They are a bit remote too which is nice.

Phonica is an institution so I don’t need to introduce it… they’ve been supporting my music since DAY 1 and all my releases have been stocked at Phonica. i always like to go and say hello to the team, I feel at home there

Jumbi is one of those places where you come for a drink and stay for a dance. it has been opened by Bradley Zero and it features one of the most exciting Soundsystems in town. The food is out of this world too. Strongly recommend…

Bambi is located in Hackney and it’s also one of my favorite spots in town. It’s got an audiophile Soundsystem installed by Audiogold and the food is also very special. It’s one of my main DJ residencies, I’m organizing a release party for my next record there on July 5th 💥

Spiritland is an OG. It’s been open for years.. I’ve had the chance to play on their insane custom made Isonoe Mixer several times. Drinks are on point and the staff are gorgeous. 🖤

TRC is one of the last independent venues in London. It also is a record label and music studio. I’ve had amazing nights there. It’s a very small spot and you need to be in the know. Big up Lex Blondin for keeping open, such a good strong creative hub.

There’s a lot of online radio nowadays, but Voices is the one that’s been the most welcoming to my music.
I don’t have a residency (yet) but I am regularly invited to play my latest tunes. It’s very open as a studio as well and you can enjoy the music from the outside. It’s located in this buzzing area that is Kings Cross and I love it.
Food
The Fields Beneath (Kentish Town)

As a vegan , The Fields Beneath is for me the BEST SPOT in town. Period.

SECOND best vegan spot in town 🫶🏻

I love running and being in contact with nature. This is the most open park in London Town. i love that you can easily get lost in it and also, that once in the middle you can’t hear cars anymore 💚

Same as before. my second preferred spot for a run and get lost.
Finally, there is a very cute walk along the canal between Kings Cross and Little Venice. Again I run a lot there. It is very peaceful, especially in the week! Best way to relax and get introspective …
