Intr0beatz releases 'Drifting Signals'

Icelandic producer Intr0beatz returns with Drifting Signals, a richly atmospheric EP that marks the 12th release from the ever-consistent Gabu Records. Known for his dusty grooves and deep, soulful cuts, Intr0beatz leans further into the dubby fringes of house music here, crafting a patient, introspective listen that feels purpose-built for twilight hours and smoke-filled spaces.

The title track opens with a hypnotic swing, built on minimalist percussion and a dub-informed sense of space. Echoes stretch into the void, while subtle low-end pulses keep things grounded without ever becoming overbearing. The production is confident yet unhurried, the kind of deep listening that rewards focus but doesn’t demand it.

“TVLK” emerges as the EP’s centerpiece, and it’s no surprise that both Baloo & Carlo and Tripmastazz are brought in for remix duties. Baloo & Carlo offer a tighter, more floor-oriented interpretation, lacing the track with crisp highs and a late-night drive. Tripmastazz takes it deeper and darker, pushing the dub elements even further while layering ghostly atmospheres that flirt with minimal techno.

Where some might crave more risk or variation across the EP, Drifting Signals succeeds in its restraint, it’s music that trusts in groove, space, and tone. Rather than aiming for peak-time impact, Intr0beatz delivers a heady slow-burn that stays true to both his sound and Gabu Records' ethos of “refined, forward-thinking” club music.

A strong, subtly immersive release that will find its home in discerning DJ sets and solitary night drives alike.
