DJ Masda began his journey in the '90s, mastering the art of spinning vinyl. Over time, he honed his deep exploration of house and techno, becoming renowned for his impeccable track selection and precise mixing, effortlessly blending old and new sounds. His impact on Japan’s underground music scene is undeniable, as evidenced by his highly respected podcast mixes for platforms such as Resident Advisor, Technique Tokyo, and Undersound. His involvement in Tokyo’s Middle of NowHere and Cabaret parties saw him invite top DJs like Daniel Bell, Binh, and Vera, cementing his role as a key figure in both the Japanese and European underground scenes.
Alongside So Inagawa, Masda co-founded Cabaret Recordings, a label dedicated to showcasing his unique interpretation of house and techno. His role in the scene extends beyond DJing and label management, as he also leads A&R operations for Tokyo's Energy Flash Distribution. While his roots remain deeply tied to Japan, DJ Masda now operates between Tokyo and Berlin, broadening his influence across Europe. With his carefully curated sets and unwavering standards, Masda continues to be a vital connector within the global underground music landscape.
