Ashley Beedle GoFundMe page launched

After battling Stage 4 prostate cancer for four years and undergoing his last treatment in October 2023, UK DJ and producer Ashley Beedle faced another severe health crisis in November 2023. A ruptured brain mass caused a brain bleed and seizure, leading to a 16-hour surgery in February 2024. During the operation, Ashley suffered a major stroke that resulted in the loss of movement in his right leg and arm, as well as his ability to speak.

Despite these setbacks, Ashley's recovery has been marked by his resilience and determination, impressing those around him. Thanks to the care he received at Kings College’s Critical Care unit and the NHS, his speech is gradually returning, and he has been discharged from the residential rehab center. However, Ashley will need to stay in a nursing home until suitable assisted living arrangements can be made through the local council.

Unfortunately, the prognosis indicates that Ashley will not regain mobility on his right side, leaving him wheelchair-bound and reliant on full-time care for most daily activities. Financially, the situation is challenging for Ashley and his family, as their savings have been exhausted. To support Ashley through this difficult time, his friends and family have launched a GoFundMe campaign with a target of £50,000. The funds will help cover essential needs such as private physiotherapy, wheelchair-friendly furniture, and a hospital bed for home use.

Ashley wants everyone to know that he sees himself as a survivor, not a victim, and expresses his gratitude to those who contribute to the fund.

With a career spanning over 35 years, Ashley Beedle is a respected figure in UK dance music, known for his work with X-Press 2, Black Science Orchestra, and The Ballistic Brothers, among others. He co-wrote the iconic track “Lazy” featuring David Byrne and achieved chart success with his remixes of Bob Marley’s “Stand Up, Jamrock” and Elton John’s “Are You Ready For Love.” Currently, Ashley is part of the No’West Production Team with his wife Jo Wallace and musical partner Darren Morris, and he's working on new Black Science Orchestra tracks.

Friends and peers in the music industry are already organizing fundraising events to support Ashley. For those who wish to contribute, donations can be made through his GoFundMe page: https://gofund.me/a9a14181
