Quicche delivers debut LP via R&S

After a run of standout singles, German singer, songwriter and composer Marc Grünhäuser – better known as Quicche – is set to release his debut album Frisia on the legendary R&S Records. Blending gentle vocals, subtle electronics and bold indie-folk, the album marks a pivotal moment in his career.

Quicche wrote, recorded and produced the album in isolation, spending a month alone in a remote house in Northern Germany with limited gear and no outside input. This deliberate retreat gave him the space to create without compromise. The result is raw, emotional and unfiltered – a deeply personal reflection on inner conflict and family pressure.

The title track, Frisia, came during a low point when Quicche was questioning his place in music. In the quiet of East Frisia, he poured his grief, shame and anger into the song, turning pain into something cathartic and relatable. He describes the album’s sound as fluid – a blend of folk, indie, ambient, electro and R&B – where ‘avant-garde meets pop’.

His latest single Red Eyes continues the momentum from earlier releases like Cyan II, White Teeth and TAGIOG.
