Peachez in Crates Launches Artist Series with BNinjas
Johannesburg producer BNinjas delivers four cuts of dusty, groove-led house on the first instalment of Peachez in Crates’ new artist series, featuring a remix from Icelandic beatmaker Intr0beatz.
Following the release of its debut compilation, Crate 001, Jeddah-based underground label Peachez in Crates returns with Crate001-1, the first in a series of individual artist releases expanding on the original project. Released digitally on 20 October 2026, the four-track EP puts Johannesburg-based producer BNinjas in the spotlight, combining his MPC-driven approach to house with a remix from Intr0beatz and a fresh take on a track from the inaugural compilation.
BNinjas has been building a distinctive sound within South Africa’s electronic underground, drawing on deep house, hip-hop rhythms and raw, soulful textures. His productions balance swung drums, subtle acid touches and understated melodies, creating grooves that favour feel and detail over excess. Influenced by Max Graef and Glenn Astro, his music carries a warm, unhurried energy designed for dancers and deep listeners alike.
Opening cut ‘Inverts’ establishes the mood with dusty, low-slung funk and a loose, understated groove. It is a confident introduction, allowing the rhythm to develop naturally rather than relying on obvious peaks. ‘Piccolo is Purple’ brings a more playful, hypnotic energy, pairing infectious rhythms with the off-centre character that runs throughout BNinjas’ production style.
Intr0beatz takes the latter track into deeper territory with a remix built around warm Rhodes chords and trippy vocal samples. The Icelandic producer opts for a more atmospheric, late-night feel, preserving the original’s hypnotic qualities while introducing a softer, more introspective mood. It is a subtle rework that complements the EP without losing sight of the dancefloor.

Closing the release, BNinjas revisits Marlon George’s ‘Lonyo’, originally featured on Crate 001. The remix connects the new project to the label’s debut compilation, bringing the release full circle and reinforcing its collaborative spirit.
Curated by DJ and label founder Anmarz, Peachez in Crates grew out of an event series in Jeddah, with a focus on connecting underground artists across borders. Rooted in Chicago house, deep jack and hip-hop culture, the label champions authentic music, international collaboration and community.
With Crate001-1, that vision takes a natural next step. The release gives BNinjas a dedicated platform while retaining the musical dialogue that shaped the original compilation. Across four tracks, the producer and his collaborator explore dusty funk, soulful house and deeper, more atmospheric grooves without overcomplicating the formula.
For those drawn to warm, MPC-led rhythms and house music that values subtlety over spectacle, Crate001-1 is a worthwhile addition to the collection. Understated, fluid and firmly rooted in groove, it marks a promising start to the next chapter for Peachez in Crates.
