DAÏKO Explores Freer Club Sounds on New Three-Track EP +++
Out now via Just Begun Records, the Brussels-based producer’s latest release moves between electro, footwork, juke and Jersey Club, balancing high-speed rhythms with soulful melodies and organic textures.
Brussels-based producer DAÏKO steps into a new creative chapter with +++, a three-track EP released on October 21st via Just Begun Records. Available digitally and on vinyl, the release finds the self-taught artist loosening his usual perfectionist approach in favour of a more spontaneous, instinctive and playful relationship with electronic music.
Known for his work within the Belgian hip-hop scene, including collaborations with Zwangere Guy, Krisy and Le 77, DAÏKO brings an eclectic production background to the dancefloor. Across +++, he draws from electro, footwork, juke, ghetto-tech and Jersey Club, weaving fast-paced, club-focused rhythms together with influences from R&B, soul and funk. The result is a sound that pairs restless energy with melodic warmth, keeping groove at the centre of the experience.
The EP opens with “ENTRE DEUX MAINS,” its first single, driven by rapid-fire drums and a triumphant atmosphere. Repeated vocal phrases lend the track a hypnotic quality, reflecting the influence of DJ Rashad on DAÏKO during the project’s creation. Beneath its propulsive rhythm, the track carries a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to make music, giving its dancefloor momentum an emotional dimension.
At the heart of the release is “DAÏKO CLUB,” the track that sparked the entire EP. Built around a ghetto-tech-inspired drum pattern, it sets an uptempo rhythmic framework against melancholic chords informed by R&B and soul. A played bassline and guitar parts introduce a more organic character, creating a compelling contrast between raw club intensity and the warmth of live instrumentation. It is this tension between electronic urgency and human touch that defines much of the EP’s appeal.
Closing track “STEP BY STEP” shifts towards Jersey Club, embracing fast, syncopated rhythms while retaining DAÏKO’s melodic vibe and preference for organic textures. It rounds out the three-track release with another perspective on the meeting point between club functionality and a more personal, expressive approach to production.
With +++, DAÏKO treats experimentation as an invitation rather than a technical exercise. By stepping away from perfectionism and embracing instinct, he creates room for movement, spontaneity and enjoyment, bringing together the physical energy of contemporary club sounds and the soulful influences that shape his wider musical identity.
