Ahead of the release of his new EP, Eclectic, we caught up with him to learn more…

Your new EP on Satya Records is about to drop—what can you tell us about its concept and inspiration?

This EP is the result of my desire to push the boundaries of minimal and rominimal house in a fresh way. I wanted to create a sonic experience that blends atmospheric elements with dance floor energy, where both organic and synthetic sounds have their place. The theme of the EP is about merging the natural with the technical—finding a balance where the warmth of analog sounds meets the sharp precision of digital elements. It’s a journey where these worlds come together and enhance each other, reflecting the dynamic we often find in our own lives. The music aims to create a sense of both intimacy and movement, whether you’re listening on the dancefloor or in a more relaxed setting.

How did you first connect with Satya Recs, and what drew you to their vision?

I decided to reach out to Satya Recs because I really admired their approach to quality and innovation in electronic music. I’ve always appreciated labels that focus on pushing creative boundaries while maintaining a strong sense of professionalism. On top of that, they consistently choose great artists who bring fresh and exciting sounds to the scene. When I saw the kind of work they were putting out, it felt like a natural fit for my music. I was looking for a label that aligns with my own artistic values, and Satya seemed like the right place to bring my sound to a wider audience.

Satya has a strong identity when it comes to deep and spiritual sounds. How does this release fit within their catalogue?

This release fits naturally into Satya’s catalogue, bringing that deep, immersive vibe they’re known for, while adding my own take on minimal and rominimal house. The EP blends hypnotic rhythms and intricate textures, with a focus on balancing analog warmth and digital clarity. It’s a sound that resonates with the label’s style of creating music that feels both grounded and introspective. I wanted to create a journey that connects with listeners, whether they’re on the dance floor or just enjoying the music in a more personal space.

Cirkel Square's Eclectic EP

Can you walk us through your creative process for this EP? Any particular track that holds deep meaning for you? Did you explore any new sounds or techniques in this release compared to your previous work?

Yes, with this release, I explored some new techniques and sounds that felt like a natural progression from my previous work. One key change was the deeper integration of field recordings, which added a more grounded and organic texture to the tracks. I also focused more on layering analog synths with digital elements, creating a balance between warmth and precision that I hadn’t fully explored before. This blend of organic and synthetic sounds gave the EP a richer, more immersive feeling, and allowed me to push the boundaries of the minimal and rominimal house styles I love, while still maintaining that hypnotic groove that defines my music.

Cirkel Square

Your music is deeply connected to nature and spirituality—how did that become such a core part of your sound?

As I developed my sound, I became more aware of how deeply interconnected we are with the world around us. This awareness naturally shaped my music, blending organic and digital elements to create something that feels both natural and precise. To me, music is more than just rhythm—it’s a journey, a way to transport listeners to a space where they can feel something profound. It's about capturing that energy and grounding it in each track, giving people the chance to connect on a deeper level.

You’ve released on labels like Storytellers, Jerelo, and FAFO Records. How has each experience shaped you as an artist?

Each label I’ve worked with has played a key role in shaping my sound, offering creative freedom, refining my craft, and fostering growth as both an artist and a person. These experiences have helped me push boundaries, stay true to my vision, and connect with a supportive community.

Storytellers played a crucial role in my journey, offering me the freedom to experiment and explore new territories in my sound. The label’s ethos of creative expression without boundaries allowed me to really tap into my artistic potential. It was there that I first began pushing the limits of minimal house and rominimal, taking risks and developing a unique voice in the genre. Storytellers gave me a platform to be bold, and that sense of openness and encouragement was vital in shaping the direction I took. It was a space where I could fully embrace my vision, with complete trust from the team, and for that, I’m deeply grateful.

FAFO Records has had a massive impact on me. Working with Giorgio Robles and the team there felt like being embraced by a family. Not only did they support me creatively, but they also gave me the opportunity to go on my first tour in Australia and New Zealand , which was a huge milestone. It’s rare to find a label that truly cares about its artists, and FAFO does just that. They helped me grow, both as a musician and as a person, and I'll always be grateful for that. It's more than just business; it’s a genuine partnership and a brotherhood that’s something really special.

Jerelo was a key turning point in my career, pushing me to refine my sound and dive deeper into the subtle nuances of minimalism and groove. Working with Joss and the team, I focused on the craftsmanship of each track. The label’s approach—exploration within structure—helped me create music that’s both experimental and accessible. Jerelo expanded my musical vocabulary and inspired me to develop a deeper, more sophisticated sound while preserving that hypnotic energy I love.

What artists or genres outside of electronic music influence your sound?

Outside of the electronic scene, my sound is influenced by a wide range of artists and genres. Vangelis' cinematic and atmospheric compositions, blending electronic with orchestral elements, inspire my focus on creating immersive soundscapes. Sade's smooth blend of jazz, soul, and pop influences my use of deep, soulful grooves. Tangerine Dream’s progressive and ambient sound, combining synthesizers with intricate melodies, pushes my exploration of space and texture in music. These artists, alongside many others, shape the emotional depth and organic feel in my work, blending genres and sounds to create something unique.

Rominimal, Rotech, Rodub, and Micro are all part of your sonic palette. How do you balance these elements in your productions?

My music is known for its deep, hypnotic grooves that captivate listeners and draw them into a space where rhythm and atmosphere intertwine seamlessly. It’s about creating a journey, not just a track. I focus on bringing an organic, immersive feel to every sound, where each element has a purpose but also leaves room to breathe. The basslines ground the energy, while the intricate textures and subtle shifts keep the listener engaged, almost like a conversation between the music and the moment.

It’s the balance of precision and warmth that sets my music apart—where each sound is carefully crafted, yet everything feels natural and alive. This allows my tracks to evolve dynamically, drawing you in and letting you lose yourself in the groove, while still maintaining that hypnotic energy that has become a signature of my sound. The focus is always on building a space where the music resonates, whether you’re on the dancefloor or listening deeply in a more intimate setting.

What’s your approach to storytelling in electronic music? Do you have a specific narrative in mind when creating a track?

My approach to storytelling in electronic music is about creating an atmosphere that evokes emotions and reactions. I focus on building layers that guide the listener through different moods—whether it's tension, release, or space—letting the music tell the story organically. It’s less about a specific narrative and more about creating a journey that’s open to interpretation, allowing listeners to connect with the sound in their own way.

You’ve collaborated with Nicola Brusegan on Equinox EP—what was that experience like?

Collaborating with Nicola Brusegan on the Equinox EP was an inspiring experience. Nicola’s precision and ability to craft rich, atmospheric sounds really complemented my approach, allowing us to create something fresh and innovative. The chemistry we had in the studio was incredible, as we both pushed each other creatively, balancing experimentation with a deep focus on the essence of the tracks. Working with Nicola not only expanded my sonic boundaries but also helped refine my vision, resulting in a collaboration that I'm truly proud of. It’s a journey of musical evolution that highlights both our strengths.

You’ve recently connected with YokoO—how did you two meet, and is there a possibility of working together in the future?

I recently connected with YokoO through social media, and from the start, I’ve been impressed by how professional and passionate the entire team is. We quickly built a great relationship, sharing a mutual respect for each other’s work and vision. I love the way YokoO approaches music—his ability to blend deep, organic sounds with a touch of magic is something I truly admire. I’m excited about the possibility of collaborating in the future, and I hope that we can work together for many years to come. It feels like the start of a creative journey, where there’s so much potential for something special.

How do you choose who to collaborate with? What makes a good musical partnership for you?

When I choose collaborators, it’s all about connection—both musically and personally. I look for people who share the same passion for creativity and who are open to exploring new ideas. The best partnerships come from mutual respect and a shared vision, where both artists bring something unique to the table. Trust is key for me, and I want to work with people who challenge me and inspire me to push my boundaries. The energy has to feel right, and above all, we should both be excited to create something that will speak to listeners.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

There are countless amazing artists I’d love to collaborate with, but if I had to pick, Priku and Barac would be at the top of my list. Their mastery of deep, hypnotic rhythms and atmospheric soundscapes aligns perfectly with my own vision. I believe their unique ability to weave emotional depth into their music would make for a truly inspiring collaboration, one where we could push creative boundaries and venture into exciting new sonic realms together.

Are there any upcoming collaborations or remixes we should keep an eye out for?

I’ve got some exciting collaborations brewing that I’m really looking forward to sharing. I have teamed up with my fellow Swedish friend, Chris Llopis, on two vinyl releases that are already finished and just waiting to drop. While I can’t spill all the details just yet, trust me—these releases are going to be something special. And that’s not all—there’s more in the works with some incredible artists, so stay tuned. You won’t want to miss what’s coming next!

Miroloja contributed a great remix to the EP – how did you feel about that process? And why was Miroloja the right person for the job?

Miroloja, the talented duo, recently contributed an amazing remix to one of my tracks, and the process was a great experience. Even though this was our first time working together, their approach to the remix was exactly what I was hoping for. They brought a fresh, innovative twist while still preserving the original vibe of the track. With their ability to create immersive atmospheres and intricate rhythms, they were the perfect choice for the job. Their unique sound really elevated the track, and I’m excited for everyone to hear it as part of the EP.

How does your DJing inform your productions, and vice versa?

My set's sound is deep, hypnotic, and groove-driven, with a strong focus on tension and flow. It’s a blend of rolling rhythms, subtle textures, and immersive atmospheres that pull the listener in and keep the energy evolving. Expect a mix of precision and spontaneity—tracks that lock you into a groove but always with a sense of movement and surprise. The selections are carefully crafted, balancing minimalism with rich sonic depth, always aiming to create an experience that feels both intimate and expansive on the dancefloor.

What’s been the most memorable set you’ve played recently? Any locations or crowds that really stood out?

I had the incredible opportunity to play at Club Neu in Stockholm, a venue famous for its high-quality sound system and vibrant atmosphere. The energy in the room was electric, with the crowd completely immersed in the music. It’s rare to find such a perfect connection between the DJ, the crowd, and the venue, and Club Neu provides just that. The outstanding sound system allows the music to truly come to life, enhancing the experience for everyone on the dancefloor.

Another unforgettable experience was playing at F12 Terrace, an outdoor venue in Stockholm that offers a stunning view of the city. The atmosphere there is truly unique, with the open-air setting adding an extra layer of excitement to the performance. It’s always special to play in my hometown, and the energy from the crowd at F12 made it one of the most memorable sets I’ve played.

On top of that, my recent tour in Australia and New Zealand was a major highlight. The crowds were incredibly passionate, and the vibe at each venue was off the charts. It’s always amazing to connect with people from different parts of the world, and the tour helped solidify my appreciation for the global dance music community. It was an experience that will stay with me for a long time.

Do you tailor your sets differently depending on the environment—clubs, festivals, or intimate gatherings?

I believe that every environment offers a unique opportunity to craft a journey with the crowd. When I’m playing in clubs, I’m drawn to the intimate connection that comes with the space. It’s all about creating deep, hypnotic grooves that pull people into the moment. I love how every subtle shift in the track can be felt on a personal level in a smaller venue. The energy is raw, and I can really feel how the crowd reacts to each beat, each transition.

Festivals, on the other hand, give me room to stretch and experiment with the dynamics. The bigger space allows me to build tension, create moments of release, and take the crowd on a broader emotional ride. There’s a sense of freedom in knowing that you can reach hundreds or even thousands of people at once and guide them through a collective experience.

Intimate gatherings offer an entirely different vibe. In those settings, I find myself diving deeper into textures, playing with subtleties, and focusing on evoking emotions that resonate more profoundly with the listeners. It’s less about the energy of a large crowd and more about creating a reflective, immersive experience that draws people in and lets them lose themselves in the sound.

No matter the setting, I always aim for that perfect moment where the crowd, the music, and the space come together in harmony—creating a sense of unity and flow that feels both personal and expansive.

Looking ahead, what’s next for Cirkel Square over the summer? Any big projects, events, or surprises coming up?

Looking ahead, there’s a lot to be excited about. I’ve got some collaborations lined up, and I’m working on new material that will push my sound even further. While I can’t reveal all the details just yet, I can promise you that there will be some fresh releases coming your way, as well as more opportunities to experience my music live.

I’ll be playing some fantastic events and festivals, where I’m looking forward to connecting with new audiences and sharing the music I’ve been working on. Each gig is an opportunity to take my sound to different places and keep evolving. Stay tuned—there’s much more to come, and you won’t want to miss what’s in store!
