CLIKNOO's MAT call on Dr.Nojoke
The third chapter in CLIKNO's MAT (Music / Art / Text) Editions series features four extended deep techno tracks by Dr.Nojoke
The release, 'wrongwrongrightright', is accompanied by Dana Widawski's artwork 'SelfMade 1-4' and a text 'solo moral judgement' by Marianne Klausen, fusing auditory and visual art and writing into a unified experience. Cover artwork and lyrics come as two inserts in a clear outer sleeve that holds the two records in between. At the core of Dr.Nojoke's music on wrongwrongrightright sits a deep hypnotic quality, woven through intricate layers of rhythm, melody and noise, creating a transcendental pulse for the dancefloor.
Notone on the A-side takes a more straightforward approach with an acidic feel. Cornips on the flipside is a deep minimal groover with a funky interplay of delicate sounds. The second record goes deeper and presents two more obscure tracks with Volasuri and Jilimuz - for those who like Voices From The Lake and the like.
Dana Widawski uses traditional techniques to create unusual socio-critical artworks, such as the four fayence-style plates of 'SelfMade', featured here on CLIKNO MAT03.
