Jen Cardini and AEG Presents France announce Nightclubbing Festival 2026 in Paris
From 24 to 27 September 2026, the French capital will host the first edition of Nightclubbing Festival, a citywide celebration of electronic music, nightlife culture and the political power of the dance floor. Anchored at La Villette and spreading across clubs and cultural venues, the festival will spotlight Parisian nightlife and its deep-rooted history.
Under the artistic direction of Jen Cardini, Nightclubbing Festival invites audiences to experience nightlife not only as entertainment but as a space for resistance, joy and transformation. In 2023, they marked three decades behind the decks with the launch of a new record label, expanding a body of work that bridges club culture, curation and artistic collaboration. Based between Berlin and Paris, the French DJ, producer and curator now runs three acclaimed imprints - Dischi D’Autunno, Correspondant Records and Færies Records - each reflecting a distinct facet of their sound and creative vision. A longstanding figure in French electronic music, they describe the festival as a love letter to the dance floor, designed to amplify unheard voices, alternative narratives and the unifying force of collective celebration.
The well-known phrase often linked to activist Emma Goldman, “If I can’t dance, it’s not my revolution”, serves as a touchstone for the project. Nightclubbing embraces the idea that celebration can be a tool for imagining a more inclusive and connected world. Through joy and movement, the dance floor becomes a space where new possibilities can be felt.
Nightclubbing draws from the political legacy of club culture. From early Chicago house and Detroit techno to Europe’s free party scene, dance music has long provided refuge for marginalised communities. The festival continues this legacy by linking it with contemporary movements for climate justice, gender equality and LGBTQIA+ rights. Alongside its musical programme, Nightclubbing will host conversations, installations and collaborative projects. A confirmed partnership with Mutek will bring together innovative artists and experimental experiences.
The northeast of Paris will serve as the centre of the festival. From La Villette to venues across and beyond the périphérique, Nightclubbing will reflect the diversity of the city's nightlife and the richness of its cultural landscape.
Originally launched as a party series and platform for queer underground artists, Nightclubbing now takes a new step forward. In the lead-up to the main event, the series returns to clubs across Europe with events at Virage in Paris on 18 October, San Francisco Bar in Amsterdam on 23 October, RSO in Berlin on 1 November and Outra Cena in Lisbon on 29 November.
Line-up announcements and ticket details for the festival will follow later this year.
