SlothBoogie Recording return with Intr0beatz EP
Few producers operating in deep house today understand groove quite like Intr0beatz. The Icelandic producer has spent years refining a sound rooted in dusty soul textures, swung percussion, warm analogue aesthetics and understated dancefloor emotion, and on It’s Been Good EP, his latest outing for SlothBoogie Recordings who return from a brief hiatus, he sounds more locked in than ever.
Marking his third full EP for the London based imprint, It’s Been Good feels less like a nostalgia exercise and more like a producer fully comfortable in his craft. Across four carefully sculpted cuts, Intr0beatz delivers a collection that radiates warmth, subtlety and timeless deep house sensibilities.
The title track opens the EP with immediate intent. “It’s Been Good” rides on rolling low end pressure, rich chord progressions and chopped vocal snippets that nod affectionately toward the golden era of ‘90s house music. There’s an effortless looseness to the groove, the kind of track that doesn’t demand attention, but naturally commands movement.
“Undeniably” follows with perhaps the most recognisable Intr0beatz signature on the record. Swing heavy drums, bubbling filtered basslines and playful organ stabs intertwine around hypnotic vocal loops, creating a track tailor made for late night sessions and intimate club spaces. It’s classic deep house craftsmanship without feeling formulaic.
On “Auf Wiedersehen”, the Reykjavik native shifts gears slightly, introducing jazz laced harmonics and Balearic undertones that give the EP a more exploratory edge. The arrangement breathes beautifully, revealing a producer confident enough to let atmosphere and groove carry the narrative.
Closing track “At Ease” lives up to its title entirely. A shimmering, sun soaked finale, it lands somewhere between afterhours reflection and terrace ready bliss, the perfect decompression track after the heavier moments of the night.

Intr0beatz, aka Arsaell Thor Ingvason, has long been one of Iceland’s most respected underground electronic artists. Beginning his journey as a turntablist and hip hop beatmaker in the late ‘90s, his evolution into house music has seen him release on labels including Stay True Sounds, Plastik People, Lagaffe Tales and Dark Energy, while also building his own Cosmic Angles imprint. His deep musicality and love for vintage hardware continue to define a sound that feels both classic and deeply personal.
The release also reinforces SlothBoogie’s enduring role within underground electronic music culture. For more than 15 years, the London collective has cultivated a reputation for championing quality house music through its parties, radio shows and consistently tasteful releases. It’s Been Good EP fits seamlessly into that lineage, understated, soulful and built for dancers who appreciate the finer details.
In a landscape increasingly driven by short attention spans and trend chasing, Intr0beatz delivers something refreshingly timeless: deep house with patience, personality and genuine groove.
