10 tracks heard at MOGA Festival

The highly-anticipated MOGA Festival was back in Essaouira in early October. Once more this magical cultural mix blended electronic music with Morocco’s rich musical culture for an unforgettable experience in the heart of the "Wind City." 

The 2024 edition featured Damian Lazarus, Âme Live, Dixon, Apollonia, Axel Boman, Carlita, Adassiya , Arrica, Daox, Atlassi, DJ Tennis, Holly Molly, DJ Tennis, DJ Vibe, dOP, Malika, Margaret Dygas, Paula Tape, Seth Troxler and many more all playing. The location was at the stunning Sofitel Essaouira Mogador Golf & Spa and the crowd was an eclectic mix of party-goers. Some of the best tracks heard at this year’s edition can be found below.

Direct 2 Disc - Excuse Me (Stab mix) [Played by Apollonia]

The French trio dug as deep as always and really got the crowd won over with this driving classic.

Agustin Giri & Last Men On Earth - Sentir [Played by Damian Lazarus]

Damian Lazarus is a real sorcerer when it comes to sound and cooks up leftfield worlds with freaky vibes and killer grooves. This was one of many standouts.

Fabi Hernandez & Allan Piziano - Al Ritmo [Played by Diass]

The shuffling percussive depths of this one were in perfect harmony with the magic of the setting at MOGA.

‍Carlita & Cleo Simone - Planet Blue [Played by Carlita]

‍Carlita is as classy as they come right now and her own majestic cut with Cale Simone never sounded better.

Ramon Bedoya - El Viaje [Played by DJ Tennis b2b Seth Troxler]

These two DJs are pure class and to have them playing back to back was a real treat with some curveball selections keeping things fresh, not least this one. 

Karo Zwo - Two Strangers [Played by Rhadoo]

You can always rely on Rhadoo to layer up his sounds with great care and attention to the overall narrative and when he dropped Karo Zwo's warming synth gem 'Two Strangers'  it took things up a notch in style. ‍

‍Kosh - The Zinger [Played by Useph]
This is a thumping cut with a compelling groove that was perfect to keep dancers engaged and move the mood along in what was a fine set from Useph. 

Sebo K & Metro - Saxtrack (Reboot Twisted Fist Remix) [Played by Margaret Dygas]

Margaret Dygas can kick it with the best DJs in the world. She’s a cult fav with a deep bag and she showed that once more with an eclectic yet coherent set that was packed with gems, not least this superb remix from Reboot.

‍EON - Spice (Mixed) [Played by Praslea]

Praslea operates at the deeper end of the spectrum so is perfect for those late night hours when wispy pads and sleek grooves are all you need to cruise for hours. However he really brought some raw texture with this tripped out twister.

‍Andre Butano & Chinonegro - Discoladia [Played by DJ Tennis b2b Seth Troxler]

Another of the many essential cuts that we heard from Tennis and Troxler, and another one we had never heard before but will be copping ourselves ASAP.‍
