Apple Music has unveiled a major update that brings full Apple Music integration to AlphaTheta’s next-generation multi-player, the CDJ-3000X, marking a significant step forward in cloud-based DJ performance.
The update introduces StreamingDirectPlay, allowing Apple Music subscribers to access more than 100 million tracks and the platform’s latest playlists directly from the CDJ-3000X. After setting up CloudDirectPlay and signing into Apple Music via rekordbox, DJs can authenticate in seconds by simply holding a smartphone, logged into Apple Music through rekordbox for iOS or Android, over the NFC touchpoint on the player’s front panel.
Building on the long-standing legacy of the CDJ line, the CDJ-3000X delivers increased precision, speed, and responsiveness, alongside a 10.1-inch high-resolution touchscreen designed for enhanced visibility and fluid navigation. The interface enables seamless browsing, previewing, and selection of cloud-based tracks, making it equally accessible for listeners, hobbyists, and DJs exploring new music in real time. With Apple Music now onboard, users can instantly tap into millions of additional tracks, preview selections on the fly, and shape their sets with greater flexibility.
The integration further expands the DJ with Apple Music ecosystem, positioning Apple Music as a core tool for music discovery, preparation, and creative development. DJ with Apple Music is already available across leading DJ platforms, including Algoriddim’s djay Pro, Serato, inMusic’s Engine DJ, as well as hardware brands Denon DJ, Numark, and RANE.
To support the launch, Apple Music has introduced a dedicated DJ with Apple Music hub, featuring curated playlists, platform-specific guides, and tools designed to help users maximise the CDJ-3000X integration. Meanwhile, the AlphaTheta DJ Mix Curator Page on Apple Music offers exclusive mixes and playlists curated by AlphaTheta, providing fresh inspiration and new directions for DJs.
Apple Music’s broader commitment to DJ culture continues through initiatives such as DJ Mixes, which hosts thousands of premium mixes from some of the world’s most influential DJs, and Apple Music Club, the platform’s global 24-hour radio station dedicated entirely to dance and electronic music.
“AlphaTheta has long been at the forefront of music technology, pushing the boundaries of creativity in the space for over 30 years,” said Stephen Campbell, Global Head of Dance, Electronic & DJ Mixes at Apple Music. “We’re excited to have Apple Music integrated into the new CDJ-3000X, bringing the power of 100 million songs and our editorial curation to users around the world.”
