DJ Matpat's top tracks of 2024
Starting at the age of 13 with a crate of his big brothers records Matpat has taken the time to develop a sound of his own rooted in House Music, all the while acquiring a wide breadth of musical knowledge to underpin his ethos of "playing the right song for the right moment". As a producer he has released on a range of different labels including Derrick Carter’s Persnickety All Stars & Stretch Armstrong's Plant Music. Mat's productions have gained support from DJ’s such as Kerri Chandler (dropping "Everybody Rise" on the Essential Mix), Laurent Garnier, Blessed Madonna, Maya Jane Coles, Fred P, DJ Sprinkles, Jamie Jones, Skream, Lucy, Joris Voorn, & Busy P among others.
To see off the year in style we invite philly's deep house don to talk through some of his top house tracks of 2024...
Jimpster - You're My Ecstacy
Jimpster is an OG and this is such a groover, deep, nuanced, driving house sound.
Elvin T - Love Control
Elvin is a friend of mine in philly, runs a spot called void and this track is classic him.. looped up lofty house that is just infectious.
Dyoll - Club E
A pumped up rave hit track that just bangs the right amount of rawness while still sounding fresh. LUV
DJ Matpat - Lucky Strike
My new jam that DJ Harvey said he loves JAW DROPPED haha
DJ SNEAK - A TASTE OF THE 90'S
This is really just straight sneak, no more words needed.
Da Klubb Kings - Rock (Extended Klubb Mix)
This shit bangs, I don't really have any more information honestly lol
Cromby - House Flava
Chunkers is really putting out that heavy house sound i love. Chunky RAW House Music
DJ Matpat - Pocket Locket
This one's a groover off an ep i put out in the summer, all analog gear. Proud of this whole EP for real.
DJ Matpat, Fawziyya Heart - Hold Your Hand (Huxley Remix)
Huxley really worked the stems for this remix. I'm super happy to have this as part of the release, it works on most floors.
Elisa Bee - Young Tool
I'm a big fan of Elisa Bee, she dropped one of my tracks on BBC Radio a few years back and has been releasing classic sounding techno and acid that are just straightup floor fillers.
