Half Baked reveals 15th birthday plans...
Half Baked, one of the UK's most respected underground parties, is gearing up to celebrate its 15th anniversary with a massive 22-hour event on Saturday, November 30th. The party kicks off at their own venue, Number 90 in Hackney Wick, before continuing at Starlane Pizza Bar. Longtime favorites like Sonja Moonear, Dyed Soundorom, Remi Mazet (Live), Giammarco Ossini, and Bas Ibelini, along with residents Robin Ordell, Greg Brockmann, Sam Bangura, and Olita, will provide the soundtrack.

Half Baked’s rise is the story of a true underground institution, built from the ground up with an organic, DIY ethos. What started with a tiny budget and the team cobbling together their own sound systems, bars, and production in offbeat, disused spaces has turned into a beloved fixture on the London club scene. Its early days involved fending off uncooperative councils and unhappy neighbors, all while creating an authentic party experience.
It all began on a Sunday afternoon in November 2009 in a derelict car park off Great Eastern Street in Shoreditch, as a birthday party for co-founder Bruno. Around 150 people showed up, and a tight-knit community quickly formed, centered around the music of residents Robin Ordell and Greg Brockmann. Word spread, and soon Half Baked became the go-to spot for Sunday afternoon raving in London. Within a year, it had grown into an international sensation, with tours that included stops at D-Edge in Brazil, Miami Winter Music Conference, and iconic venues like Off Sonar Barcelona, ADE Amsterdam, Concrete Paris, and Bar 25 Berlin.
Half Baked’s signature has always been its knack for finding unusual, often unused venues. The founders, Bruno Cabral and Remi Landaz, used to scour East London on their bikes, hunting for hidden gems to host their next event. Over the years, they've thrown parties in open-air car parks, abandoned warehouses, Hoxton basements, and even under the Shoreditch Overground lines. As a tribute to their early days, a bicycle adorned with lights has become a symbolic feature at Half Baked parties, suspended above the dance floor as a reminder of how it all began.
A key moment for Half Baked came in 2013 when, after hosting a series of legendary parties above a print factory at 90 Wallis Road, Bruno and Remi took the leap to rent the entire building. That venue is now Number 90, an award-winning space that also houses a restaurant and creative studios. Locals helped transform the space from a squat into a thriving venue, and in 2014, it was recognized with awards like the ‘Best Local Business’ from the Mayor of Hackney and a Time Out Love London Award. Number 90 has been the home of Half Baked for over a decade, and it continues to grow, with adjacent warehouses now converted into new spaces like 90 Live and 90 Hideout.

What started as a small Sunday gathering has now turned into a global phenomenon. Half Baked has hosted over 600 events worldwide and launched its own record label, featuring releases from names like Mathew Johnson, Shonky, Margaret Dygas, Voigtmann, and the late Mike Huckaby.
To mark 15 years of underground magic, Half Baked is throwing its biggest party yet on November 30th, with a stellar lineup of house, techno, minimal, and deep sounds. Familiar faces like Sonja Moonear, Dyed Soundorom, Remi Mazet, Giammarco Ossini, and Bas Ibelini will bring their A-game to celebrate the milestone in style.
