Ahead of his new release ‘Waiting Ft Bianca Nieddu’, Max gives us the low down of his favourite East London spots…

Big club

It’s technically EC1 so it still counts as East I guess and may seem the obvious choice, but I’ve got to go with fabric. Been there literally hundreds of times over the last 20 something years and have some of my favourite raving and djing memories from there.

Small club

Nestled in the middle of a Hoxton estate is Lion and Lamb. I used to live a few minutes walk from it and just knew it as an old abandoned pub for years. First went there in 2017 and have been a regular since. Finely tuned Martin Audio sound system sounds great and it’s a lovely booth to play in.

Record shop

We’re spoiled for choice in the East. Love Vinyl and BBE Store are favourites of mine. But I also enjoy digging at Yoyo and Totem. All are fairly close to each other, so it’s easily doable to visit all in one trip.

Restaurant

My Neighbour The Dumpling is well worth a visit. They have two branches of it, but I prefer the one in Clapton as they have the Chicken thighs there. Really nice sharing plates and lovely Sake in a nice atmosphere.

Breakfast

After a heavy night, get down to Hash E8 to sort yourself out. They have their signature homemade hash browns and baked beans that top off their full English perfectly. Healthy options available as well and they do cocktails to get you back in the game. Pellicci’s in Bethnal Green is also well worth checking out if you want more of a traditional East London experience.
