pH Project mix Nightclubber 182

pH project, the Siamese brainchild of Pelle & Herra, is currently making waves with releases on Picnic records, a future classic podcast on Mood Waves and a track on the third release from the Mood Waves label . A dynamic duo that plays the deeper realms of house, techno, breakbeat electro progressive and everything in between. Their versatility as both a DJ and production team has lead them to multiple big clubs and booths all over the world. The guys also mixed our latest mix, which you can check here,] and we also caught up with them for a chat recently…

Tell us a bit about this mix? Where did you record it and when?

The mix was recorded on a Sunday afternoon after a weekend full of inspiration at Herra’s home. We used two technics, two CDJs and a rotary mixer for this.

How does your mood dictate what you play?

This plays a very important role when playing records. Not only the interaction between the two of us, but also the interaction with the audience is something we take very seriously in our sets. The length of the sets and the particular set time when we play are also important. Especially during longer sets, we like to combine different styles to show different sides of ourselves. Different styles are discussed such as house, electro, breaks and techno.

Can you talk us through some of the records and transitions on the mix?

For this set we mainly focused on a more deep and dark side. Normally people know us mainly from the more house-focused sets, but we like to also show this side of our musical spectrum.

Music aside, what else is keeping you busy right now?

Next to DJing and producing, we are both still working on music in daily life. Pelle is a full-time programmer at a club in Haarlem called Patronaat and Herra works part-time in record store Killacutz in Amsterdam.

What have you been busy working on recently (musically) and what else can we look forward to from you over the next while?

We made a ton of music late last year and the start of 2022 that will be released on various labels in the coming period. In addition, we also have a number of things planned as a solo as Herra and Pelle. We can’t say much about it yet, but that releases are coming is one thing that is certain. We also have several shows from, among others, the Picnic label, of which we are residents.
