Sophie Festival Returns to Málaga with Its Biggest Line-up Yet

Quest, Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Helena Hauff, Sonja Moonear, Raresh and more join the bill for Sophie’s 2025 open-air series at Ogus Park

One of southern Spain’s most forward-facing electronic gatherings is back in full force this summer. Sophie Festival has just unveiled its full 2025 programme - and it’s by far the festival’s most ambitious edition to date.

Spanning six open-air events from June through September, Sophie will take over the scenic Ogus Park just outside Málaga with a genre-spanning line-up of underground selectors, live acts, and headline names, all set against a cinematic backdrop of hills, sky and sun-drenched dancefloors.

With over 80,000 attendees expected, this year's edition introduces a new “Weekender” format-pairing Friday and Saturday sessions across three weekends, plus three standalone dates to round out the season. Each event brings a different energy, but all carry Sophie’s unmistakable DNA: cutting-edge sounds, deep programming, and a strong visual identity.

A Carefully Curated Line-up Balancing Impact and Integrity

Sophie has built a reputation for bridging the worlds of big-room spectacle and underground credibility-and 2025 holds true to that ethos.

Topping the bill are Bicep, who will bring their immersive CHROMA AV show to Spain for a rare appearance. Also announced are minimal techno pioneer Richie Hawtin, groove trio Apollonia, heavyweight party starters ANOTR, and the ever-uncompromising Helena Hauff.

They join an already stacked cast including Solomun, Charlotte de Witte, Ricardo Villalobos, Nina Kraviz, Âme (Live), The Blessed Madonna, and Maceo Plex-names that speak to Sophie’s increasing international pull.

But the festival’s real strength lies deeper in the line-up, where subtlety and taste take centre stage. Raresh, tINI, Nicolas Lutz, Sonja Moonear, Traumer, Ryan Elliott, Ogazón, Quest, Young Marco, Dekmantel Soundsystem, Onur Özer, The Ghost, and Sugar Free & Fonte are just some of the names representing the more intimate and hypnotic corners of the spectrum.

A highlight for many will be the Dekmantel Soundsystem showcase, a hand-picked curation known for threading together genre-defying grooves and dancefloor subtleties with effortless flow.

More Than a Festival

Set just ten minutes from Málaga’s city centre, Ogus Park offers the kind of natural-meets-industrial setting that feels tailor-made for this scale of dance music event - open skies, towering pines, and a sense of spatial freedom that’s rare on the festival circuit.

“The goal is clear: to put Málaga firmly on the global map of world-class electronic music destinations,” says Felipe Kuo, Director of Sophie. “We believe this season will mark a cultural turning point for the city.”

Beyond the bookings, Sophie continues to double down on its creative direction, with an emphasis on immersive stage design, AV experimentation, and a strong visual narrative carried across all six events. It’s less about one big weekend and more about building an evolving, collective journey across the season.

With a foot in the club and a hand on the horizon, Sophie is fast becoming a fixture on the international radar - not just for its bookings, but for how it brings them to life.
