Alessio Collina's Trend Records returns with new EP from Steaf
With spring in full swing, Trend Records welcomes back Ligurian artist Steaf for a new chapter in his journey with the label. Titled Time is Over, the four-track EP showcases Steaf’s distinct sound – one that draws from the past while keeping one eye firmly on the dancefloor.
A regular on forward-thinking imprints like Howl Records and Dance Conmigo, Steaf – the alias of Stefano Dovo – first appeared on Trend back in 2022. His return is marked by a confident collection of club-focused tracks that fuse groove, grit and flair in equal measure.
Opening cut Rzz Rocket is a high-energy roller powered by a driving bassline and raw, no-nonsense drums. Straight to the point and primed for peak time. Title track Time is Over follows, leaning into early 2000s nostalgia with progressive synth work and a deep, pulsing bassline built for long blends and wide-open dancefloors.
Jour de Fête brings a dubbier mood to the mix – all shimmering stabs, conga rhythms and weighty low-end – perfect for both dark basements and sun-soaked open airs. Closing things out is Discolosco, a tribal-tinged groover that flips funky samples around a filtered bassline for maximum dancefloor impact.
Curated by label head Alessio Collina – a longstanding figure in Italy’s underground scene and founder of the vinyl-only alias Hill – the release marks another strong entry in the label’s now 14-year history. With support from names like Move D and Kerri Chandler, Alessio continues to push quality-forward, analogue-rich sounds through both his own productions and the artists he champions.
Time is Over is out now on Trend Records. Listen to our premiere of Jour de Fête here.
