Luke Hess announces new LP on DeepLabs
Detroit techno mainstay Luke Hess is relaunching his DeepLabs imprint, kicking off with his long-awaited third album, Arkeo. This marks Hess’s first LP in ten years, a milestone release that blends his signature deep, driving sound with an evolved, personal touch.
Arkeo is Hess’s most eclectic and techno-focused album to date, channeling his deep connection to Detroit’s underground scene and his love for atmospheric, floor-ready aesthetics. With a focus on rhythm and texture, the album moves between pulsating low-end grooves, hypnotic synth work, and refined, immersive sound design.
While Arkeo is rooted in club energy, Hess also describes it as a reflection of his own personal journey. In his own words:
“Arkeo represents the awareness that I have weaknesses, but rather than seeing them as limitations, I view them as opportunities for growth. As you listen, my hope is that you don’t just hear the music, but that you feel a connection to something deeper.”
The album spans nine tracks, available in vinyl and digital formats, with a digital bonus track, Metanoia. From the rhythmic precision of Dokimion to the expansive atmospheres of Skopos, Hess’s production style remains unmistakable: deep, layered, and full of intention.
As DeepLabs reopens its doors, Arkeo sets the tone for the label’s next chapter, reinforcing Hess’s commitment to timeless, forward-thinking Detroit techno.
